I would not use needle nose to re-install the new cup, too much chance of putting a nick or mark in the new cup.  I guide them in using a small screwdriver, slide them on the screwdriver, put the tip of the screwdriver in the hole and let them simply fall down. Then, of course you have to make sure that the bottom of the cup, with is slightly flared out, gets seated correctly in the hole or it won't last long.

I just had a problem on a new upper, but in my case I am sure it was a headspace problem. Mine is 7.62x39 and it was having problem chambering the round. I put the loaded rounds under the extractor onto the bolt face. Took pressure to close the bolt and and a lot of effort to eject the loaded round. I slipped a spare 7.62x39 bolt in and it chambers easily without resistance. I do not have a head space gauge. I noticed that the original bolt was rough about the lugs and it be something as simple as a burr. I have written the manufacturer and will see if they send me a new bolt.
