I really have to thank you so much for this video. My grandfather (passed in 2007) was an auto mechanic. Last night, my battery had drained & I couldn't figure out why. When I got home & cut the ignition off, I realized the break lights were on. I googled this & found that it was a crayon piece that had actually broke off from where the break switch is. I remember seeing it yesterday while I was cleaning out the driver side floor. I happen to go outside find it, & put it back in it's place. (3

Thank you for actually showing the clip process. That's the hardest thing. I've got the new switch on but have yet to get that clip on. Also, I saw you demonstrating on the switch. I may have my Switch on backwards. Does the slot side of switch go on bottom, then rod in middle, then complete square side on top, then clip? Or does it matter? Thank you very much.

Thanks for this video. A mechanic told me to do this now to figure out whats actually causing the problem so I can get it fixed.
You just saved me $250.00 at the dealership. Was looking for a clean video with a vehicle that had the same issue of not allowing the shifter to move and the same warning lights. Boom I found yours and literally within five minutes I replaced the same switch (which I had diagnosed at the dealership while they were repairing a warranty item) They wanted to hit me with a $250 charge to fix THAT!! THANK YOU.
Excellent. You made it look so easy. With me... I would of taken 3 hours just to try and take off a lock clip and end up breaking it off anyway. The air bag would of gone off in my face cuz I would of forgot to disconnect it and so on..

How did you get that inside rear quarter panel to come off?  I tried popping it off with a screw driver where it has the 2 pins for the meeting point behind the rear seat in front of the trunk, is that the correct way?
